My name is Scott Kent, and I teach English and Computer Science at Centennial High School in Roswell, Ga.

I share a wonderful life with my wife, Denise, two kids, Alma (who is frighteningly close to being grown), and Al who is eight going on twenty-five.

I love teaching and hate most of the things that come with it.

On the two days a year I’m not grading papers or programs, I’m planning some woodworking job that I’ll probably never get to start, but I love the idea.

I’m in the paradoxical position of loving the opportunities provided by the changing world and scared to death of the state of education.

I’m writing this blog because I tell my students to join the conversation, and up until now, I’ve been a hypocrite.
